Appleton, Wisconsin – A local coffee company in Appleton sells one of its blends to the world.
Through his passion for coffee, the Appleton coffee maker found a way to give back to the cause that is close and dear to his heart.
Ten years ago, Paul Wisnecki began honing his skills to start his own coffee roastery with his own team. They have been in operation for 10 years and now have new flavors in their production.

A big cup of coffee doesn’t just get someone’s morning off to a good start. In fact, it helps survivors of domestic violence.
“Connecting American women around the world over a cup of coffee is an easy way to make a difference,” Wisnecki said.
Wisnecki has traveled a lot in the coffee business over the years. While he was judging his coffee competition in Honduras, he met a group of women who had an idea.
He visited a farm run by a woman who had been a victim of domestic violence and who worked to grow coffee beans.
Wisneski said he promised these women he would support them by buying their products and brewing them here in Wisconsin.
“One of the farms I toured was a group of women who were survivors of domestic violence, and those women were incredibly inspirational. We started this coffee plantation,” Wisnecki said.
New Morning Coffee Roasters now imports coffee beans from farms in Honduras and supports women’s businesses here in America.
They created a new line of coffee called Caferoz. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
“This is something we really need to do,” said Jim Barvoort, owner of Great Lakes Beverages.
Jim Vervoort is a co-owner of Great Lakes Beverage and has helped with the packaging and distribution of this new coffee line.
He and his team heard the story and wanted to spread it across Wisconsin.
“We have seen the impact that small local movements can have on a national and, in this case, global scale. That’s what it is,” says Vervoort.
The group found a way to show their talent in coffee and give back to a community in need.

“If I can help a handful of people just by giving these charities additional funding, that’s my real goal,” Wisnecki said.
