ChromeOS 109 will roll out over the next few days as a small update in terms of changes for users, but with some tweaks.
After the Chromebook boots, it takes a few seconds for ARC (Android Runtime for Chrome) to start. Previously, app icons on the shelf were grayed out and displayed a circular loading indicator until completed.
In ChromeOS 109, a (white, even in dark theme) A window with the app logo will open immediately ARC is loaded. This is a visual trick and serves as a more obvious status indicator. It’s a more obvious change on older/lower end hardware.
Tap the lock icon on the left side of the address bar and “From the Web” has been renamed to “”.About this page” opens a more detailed sidebar populated with information from the equivalent “about this source” Google search function. This includes Wikipedia snippets, “in his own words” explanations, and “his web results on the source.” Changes may not yet be widely deployed.
Gallery annotation feature “Custom” color picker It offers more options than the 20 presets under “Palette”. There is a HEX field that can be specified exactly.
Browser settings with memory and energy saver[パフォーマンス]Menus may be expanded more broadly in ChromeOS 109. You can enable it now with the following flag announced last month:
