Vermont Business Magazine AFT Vermont, a member of Community Health Centers (CHC) and Community Health United (CHU), has ratified a new union agreement. This new deal builds on existing contracts with professional staff and currently includes 168 support his staff. It will be:
- Raises minimum starting price to $20/hour in August 2023
- Expansion of paid leave (including 15 days of paid childcare leave)
- Increase staff input to improve orientation, training, health and safety

CHC Physician Assistant Andrea Solomon, President of CHU, said: The wages, paid leave and improved working conditions agreed in this agreement will go a long way in recruiting and retaining the staff we need to better serve our patients. ”
The parties were assisted by mediator, FMCS Commissioner Annie Rutsky. The newly ratified agreement will enter into force on February 4, 2023.
Since 1971, community health centers have provided quality health care to Vermonters regardless of financial or insurance status. One of 12 federally accredited health centers in the state, CHC has nine locations and is one of the largest non-profit family health and dental clinics in Chittenden and Grand Isle counties.
