Cameroonian journalists gathered in Yaoundé on Monday to pay tribute to the murder of their colleague Martinez Zogo, who was kidnapped last week and whose body was found near the capital this weekend, and to demand justice.
Surrounded by candles, flowers and banners demanding justice, friends and colleagues stood outside Amplitude FM, the radio station where Martinez Zogo worked.

Zogo’s mutilated body was found near Cameroon’s capital Yaoundé on Sunday, five days after he was kidnapped.
Zogo hosts a popular daily show on Amplitude FM, and according to the Committee to Protect Journalists, he recently commented on alleged embezzlement in public sector procurement that benefited a prominent businessman. According to CPJ, Zogo served two months in prison for defamation charges in 2020.
