We also hold events that bring the community together.
One of these events will take place one week from today. The ever-popular Business Expo and Newspapers in Education Book Sale.
The last Expo was held in February 2020, just before everything shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic has forced us to cancel the 2021 and his 2022 events.
But we’re back, and it’s never been more fun on February 4th from 10am to 4pm at APlex, 701 Woodward Ave., Alpena.
We’ll tell you all about it from over 20 vendors, including the popular Pour Boy’s Honey, where you can sample and sell delicious treats.
Bring your purse and wallet.
The Galley Sweet Shop sells popular Cops and Donuts merchandise in the morning, and Nowicki’s Sausage Shoppe sells groceries for lunch.
The expo benefits vendors by providing an audience of hundreds at once who can talk about their products. , restaurants, and more.
Adjacent to the exposition, thousands of used books are sold at discounted prices. best seller. Romance. Westerner. historical fiction and non-fiction. Self-help. poetry. Politics. A book about northeastern Michigan and Michigan as a whole. hobby. And many more.
100% of book sales go to Newspapers in Education to help get newspapers to classrooms in Northeast Michigan. Children use newspapers to improve literacy, understand the difference between facts and opinions, and learn about the weather.
The best books sell out quickly, so come early to get the books you want.
The event will also feature giveaways throughout the day. You have to exist to win.
In short, February 4th will be a day jam-packed with business and reading, so don’t miss it.
We are very happy to host the Expo again. It was really disappointing that the event was canceled two years in a row.
Sorting through the thousands of donated books is a daunting task to pull off.
But it’s worth it. Because this event is great for us as organizers, companies and participants.
