COSHOCTON – Two local businesses recently received a Community Improvement Award from the Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce for expansions designed to boost the community.
MFM Building Products was awarded the completion of an $8 million expansion project in November. Coshokton Regional Medical Center was honored for opening a new walk-in clinic in Warsaw in December. At the Chamber of Commerce’s quarterly luncheon held at the M Event Center, delegates were presented with shields.
In March 2021, MFM broke ground on a new 46,000-square-foot warehouse to store raw materials and some finished goods. This allowed us to add a new product line to our main building. Another building where raw materials were stored was also converted into office space. Buildings that were once used as warehouses and offices were demolished and replaced with green spaces and parking lots.
The company manufactures self-adhesive exterior waterproofing membranes for the construction industry. Examples include waterproofing under shingles and around windows. MFM sells products to direct distributors, not to contractors or the general public. MFM operates in North America and some overseas countries such as Thailand, Australia and New Zealand.
Regarding the project delays, Fulfillment Manager Paul Bratton said, “It was a lot of work because of supply chain issues.” “It was a tough build, but very rewarding.”
CRMC opened two walk-in clinics in December, and another in Newcomerstown. Clinics are designed to locally treat patients who need to see a healthcare provider and cannot wait for an appointment. The clinic also creates options for individuals to seek care without an established primary care provider. A range of services are provided for community members with common illnesses and minor injuries.
The clinic in Warsaw has three employees every day and sees 15 to 20 patients each day. Includes three testing rooms, labs, provider offices, lobby and registration area. Telemedicine and some mental health services may eventually be added.
