Berkshire Environmental Action Team Debuts Enhanced Berkshire Green Drink
Pittsfield— After hosting the monthly Pittsfield Green Drinks gathering for nearly 15 years, the Berkshire Environmental Action Team (BEAT) is expanding Green Drinks from Pittsfield countywide into ‘Berkshire Green Drinks’. Prior to the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Pittsfield Green Drinks were held exclusively in Pittsfield restaurants and pubs. Beginning in 2023, BEAT will begin relocating its in-person gatherings to various towns in Berkshire County each month. Great Barrington New Short-Term Rental Property Registration Requirements
Great Barrington— Great Barrington will soon begin communicating with owners of short-term rental (STR) properties that must comply with the new STR registration requirements beginning in 2023.
The registration process was scheduled to begin on January 1, but town manager Mark Pruhenski said the online registration setup is a little behind schedule. Property owners who are eligible for registration will be contacted by the town by mail to begin the process, Purchenski said.
The registration fee schedule is also set by the town.
A new town ordinance adopted this year imposes restrictions on certain types of short-term rental businesses in the town. The town has contracted with an outside company, GovOS, to register properties that fall under the new regulations. These properties are currently identified using technology provided by GovOS. The town’s short-term rental (STR) ordinance can be found here. The town’s contact for STR matters is Stephen Browning, the town’s health inspector.
