Brooklyn's new Notorious BIG interactive statue pays tribute to hip-hop greats

The infamous B.I.G.’s mammoth aura is commemorated in a stunning statue of the hip-hop legend. A nine-foot-tall interactive build of the legendary rapper aptly titled ‘Sky’s the Limit in the County of Kings’ has been constructed in Dumbo’s Clumber Corner Park. The statue features Biggie’s trademark cougi his sweater and crown overlooking the city.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was born in Bed-Stuy and is synonymous with the borough of Brooklyn. The sustainable, interactive statues are carefully curated in bronze, resin, stainless steel, winterstone, and wood, and feature an audio system powered by solar energy. The statue plays music Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Downtown Brooklyn and Dumbo Funded by his Public Art Fund, the statue was designed by New York artist Sherwin Banfield it was done. This reflective sculpture invites viewers to experience the larger-than-life artistry of his BIG contribution to Brooklyn and his hip-hop culture.
