The person confirmed the move to AP on condition of anonymity as no deal had been announced. The Athletic was the first to report on Miley’s deal.
Milwaukee also acquired right-hander Bryce Wilson for cash from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday.
Miley, 36, appeared in nine games with the Chicago Cubs last season, going 2-2 with a 3.16 ERA. He missed the start of the season with inflammation in his elbow and was also sidelined by a strained throwing shoulder.

He owns a career record of 9-17 with a 5.54 ERA in 56 games, including 43 starts. Wilson recorded 162 strikeouts and he walked 79 in 232 1/3 innings.
Pittsburgh acquired Wilson and right-hander Ricky DeVito from Atlanta in a July 2021 trade and sent right-hander Richard Rodriguez to the Braves.
The Brewers made a place for Wilson on their 40-man roster by drafting right-handed Trevor Kelly. The 30-year-old Kelly went 1-0 with a 6.08 ERA in 18 relief appearances last season.
