ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves acquired lefty reliever Lucas Rutoji from the New York Yankees on Wednesday night in exchange for two minor leaguers.
The Yankees acquired right-hander Indigo Diaz and infielder Caleb Durbin.
Luetge, 35, has pitched in at least 50 games in each of his last two seasons in New York, with an ERA below 3.00. As a left arm, he was 4-4 with a 2.67 ERA and his two saves in 2022. He recorded his 60 strikeouts in his 57 1/3 innings.
In 2021, Ryutge went 4-2 with a 2.74 ERA and one save.
The 6-foot-5-inch Lucci from Blenheim, Texas was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 21st round of the 2008 draft. He made his major league debut in 2012 in Seattle.
Ryutge appeared in 111 games for Seattle from 2012-2015 with a 4.35 ERA and a 305 ERA. Overall, he has an 11-11 record and a 3.38 ERA in the majors.
Diaz, 24, appeared in 49 games with Double-A Mississippi in 2022, going 3-4 with a 3.08 ERA and four saves. season.
Braves first baseman Lewin Diaz was designated an assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster.
