WISCONSIN — WWE professional wrestler Braun Strowman pays tribute to Jackson Sparks in his next wrestling match.
Sparks was only eight years old when he was one of six people killed by Darrell Brooks Jr. in the Waukesha Christmas Parade tragedy.
“Hearing and seeing the tragic events that took place there last year reminded me how special life really is and how important it is to support the community,” Stroman said.
Tragedy got even closer to home when he learned that one of the victims had dreamed of meeting him one day.
“One of the young men [Sparks] One of the things he always wanted to do was meet wrestling hero Braun Strowman. It really spoke to me more and showed me how I needed to do more for these people and this family.
At that time, he wanted to do something not only to help the victims and their families, but also to honor his young fans.
Strowman worked with the Green Bay Packers to create a custom boot. He will wear green and gold in his SmackDown match against Gunther for his WWE Intercontinental Championship on January 13th.
This boot was designed by artist Dan Gamash (also known as Mache) who often designs shoes for the NFL, MLB, NBA and WWE.
His boots will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Waukesha Christmas Parade Foundation.
“At the end of the day, I want to leave the world just a little bit better than I found it,” Strowman said.
