Bowling Green, Kentucky (WBKO) – General Motors is celebrating 70 years of production of the Corvette.
Since 1981, the city of Bowling Green has produced over 1 million of the 1.75 million Corvettes worldwide.
From models like the Stingray to the Z06 to the all-new E-Ray, all set to debut in 2024.
Some say the new hybrid model is one of a kind.
GM Bowling Green Assembly Logistics Manager Angela Talley said: “This allows other people interested in the e-world to experience a Corvette now when they probably didn’t want to have a Corvette before. Demand will likely skyrocket.”
GM Bowling Green Assembly launch lead Andrew Keltner said:
“I think this has really opened up the market base for us. It brings in customers that you wouldn’t normally see. This car is in any condition.
E-Ray production will begin this year and will be rolled out for purchase in 2024.
The 2024 Corvette E-Ray, coming later this year, will go on sale in 2023, with a suggested retail price of $104,2954 for the 1LZ Coupe.
