New or improved Windows apps

messenger app widget

Messenger is not a new application, but the latest version of Messenger includes the first 3rd party widgets for Windows 11 Widgets feature. Currently requires a Developer Channel build of Windows 11.

The Messenger App Widget displays the latest messages when added to the widget interface. This is done by clicking the plus icon on the widget and selecting Messenger from the list of available widgets.

Plex Media Server

Plex Media Server allows Plex users to access, manage, and share media on “nearly any device.” It’s also available on Android and iOS and requires his Plex account, which is free.

Once media such as movies, TV shows, and photos are added, they can be accessed from other devices such as TVs, tablets, and mobile devices, provided the media server is running.

WinGet-AutoUpdate-Configurator

WinGet-AutoUpdate-Configurator is a helper tool for WinGet. Its main purpose is to automatically update some or all applications on Windows 11 devices when updates are released.

Important update

UTM 4.1 is an app for Apple Macintosh devices that allows Mac users to install Windows 11 on M1, M2 and Intel Mac devices for free.

WinRAR 6.20 is a new major version of the compression software. Improves remediation capabilities and performance under certain circumstances.
