Baker Mayfield doesn’t know where the next season will end.
But Mayfield is content heading into the offseason after getting another chance to be the starting quarterback, even with a struggling Los Angeles Rams team.

“But obviously it’s going to be a big decision.”
Mayfield started the season with the Carolina Panthers, who traded him to a contract with the Cleveland Browns this offseason. However, his time with the Panthers was short-lived. Mayfield was benched for Sam Darnold in Week 12 before being released in December.
The Rams then claimed Mayfield after several quarterback injuries, most notably Matthew Stafford’s spinal cord contusion, knocking him out that year.
Mayfield will play five games for the Rams. Although they only won two of those games, Mayfield averaged 170 yards per game and completed an average of nearly 63% of his passes, giving him four touchdowns and his Throwing two interceptions, the Rams sent Denver to the Broncos on Christmas Day, 51–14. This match ultimately led to the sacking of Nathaniel Hackett.
Mayfield went 13-for-26 for 147 yards and threw an interception in Sunday’s 19-16 overtime win in Seattle.
Mayfield is set to become an unrestricted free agent in the coming months. The former No. 1 overall pick has struggled in recent years, but he knows he still has what it takes to play in the league.
But it sounds like it’s up to him, not anyone else, where it goes next.
“I know I’m capable enough to be a starter [quarterback]’ said Mayfield. “I have no doubts about it. It should be the best opportunity for me. I’m not going to chase the check to get started.”
