Blaine Briggs retired from Louisiana Farm Bureau Mutual Insurance Company 36 years later.
Briggs has served as Executive Vice President and State Manager since March 2010. Under his leadership, Louisiana Farm Bureau Insurance raised his AM Best rating from B+ to A. Louisiana real estate. Biggs also helped locate the new Louisiana Department of Agriculture. He was heavily involved in the design and construction of the building, which opened in August.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from what was then the University of Southwestern Louisiana.

Dr. Aaron DeWitt was appointed Chief Medical Officer in Baton Rouge General’s Mid-City Campus.
DeWitt has been with BRG as a Hospitalist since 2017. He has held various leadership roles, including faculty in BRG’s Internal Medicine Residency Program, Medical Director of BRG’s Skilled Nursing Unit, and Medical Director of Community Nursing Homes and Nursing Homes.

Patalano succeeds Michele Calandro, who has announced his retirement after more than 30 years at Blue Cross. Calandro will serve as Executive Vice President and Special Advisor to his CEO until his retirement on March 31.
Patalano has over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry in a variety of settings including private practice, payer side, provider side and government. Patalano was most recently an attorney with the Healthcare Practice Group at K&L Gates, a fully integrated global law firm employing nearly 2,000 attorneys on five continents.
