Survive2Thrive CEO Courtney Santana says about 39% of victims of domestic violence become homeless.
AUSTIN, TX — An app called Sanctuary, created by the Survive2Thrive Foundation, helps victims of domestic violence.
Survive2Thrive CEO Courtney Santana said: “So we put it all together in one space for her and created a reception form. These services her providers and first responders use it to keep domestic violence victims safe and confidential. It can be placed in a high-end hotel room.”
This non-profit organization helps provide a safe place to stay for homeless domestic violence victims. Once logged in, there is a map showing available and unavailable facilities that the organization has contacts for.
Santana said getting them into extended stays and hotels is important as central Texas continues to grow and shelters are filling up. The organization helps more than 700 people a year. I’m trying
“They are extended-stay hotels. They have kitchens. Victims can go there and lead normal lives until they are placed in permanent living conditions,” she said.
Funding for the app and housing comes from the City of Austin, private donations and the Moody Foundation.
“We want to create a safety net. When they have to leave,” Santana said.
