Jiro: Two Arunachary entrepreneurs from the Lower Subansiri District were recently awarded the India Bali Merit Award in Bali, Indonesia.
Bamin Siri, chairman of Ziro Poultry Cooperative Farmers’ Society Ltd (ZPCFS), and Michi Amung, chairman of Ridge Multipurpose Cooperative Society Ltd (RMCS), who are prominent social workers and progressive farmers, are experts in the field of economic growth. Awarded in recognition of achievements in By the Association for Indian Economic Growth (AEG).
The duo have been nominated for the Global Award by AEG among many nominees in the economic activity sector of India.
The award was presented by Mr. VB Soni, Ambassador of India to Indonesia, Mr. Lawlesh Kumar, Vice Consul, Consulate General of India and Mr. Wayan Sukrata, PRO Kuta of Indonesia.

In celebration of World Veterinary Day on 28th April 2012, the association won the award for the best livestock cooperative in the poultry industry. At the 2016 Statehood His Day celebration, ZPCFS was awarded the Dorjee Kandu Memorial Award as the best cooperative in the state.

Again, on 23 April 2022, ZPCFS received the Rashtriya Udyog Ratan Award from Bengaluru Health, Family Welfare and Medical Education Minister K Sudhakaran.
Siri said she always wanted to be an entrepreneur.
“I wanted to become a social engineer and bring innovations that create jobs, improve the economic status of the nation and bring smiles to families,” he said.
“Many researchers from all over the country come to see and learn how ZPCFS works,” he added.
Siri served as Vice Chairman of the Arunachal Pradesh Federation of Consumer Cooperatives from 2018 to 2022 and currently sits on the Board of Directors.

Award-winning in the cooperative category, Amung founded RMCS in 2018. The association works with experts to provide training in the animal husbandry, agriculture and handweaving sectors. It also assists and guides unemployed youth to take advantage of various central and state government sponsored schemes available under the National Livelihood Mission and Atma Nirbhar schemes.

The association is governed by a 7-member board of directors, including 30 core members and 5 self-help groups. Over 100 of his households in Giro Valley have benefited from his RMCS.
RMCS won the Best Livestock Cooperative Award on Independence Day 2020 and the Best Multipurpose Cooperative Award on Itanagar Republic Day 2022.
