Last year, Microsoft announced that its latest Windows 11 release would soon get official Apple Music and Apple TV apps, and now beta versions are finally available. Apple discontinued iTunes for his Mac in 2019, but it remains the only option for Windows, but it won’t last long.
It took just four years, but it looks like Apple is finally ready to debut official Apple Music and Apple TV apps for Windows 11. This is the latest release only and does not include support for Windows 10.
Users can download the official (but beta) Apple Music and Apple TV apps from the Microsoft store today, but it’s not all good news.
Unfortunately, these apps will eventually be available to users as beta versions, Apple Insider I quickly realized that the app was featureless and somewhat bare bones. The Microsoft Store listing also states the same and displays the following notification:
“This is a preview version of Apple Music and not all features may work as expected. Installing Apple Music Preview will prevent iTunes from opening and will keep you from opening iTunes until a compatible version of iTunes is released.” You will not be able to access audiobooks or podcasts on this device.”
Additionally, the Apple TV+ app doesn’t yet support Dolby Vision, Atmos, or at least HDR10+, but you can still enjoy regular 4K HDR content. You may find it lacking, but I’m sure it will provide updates and additional options soon.
Until now, users had to rely on the old and outdated iTunes program. To make matters worse, Apple TV+ was only accessible to him via a web browser. Now you have a dedicated app that works better with Windows 11, provides a better experience, and gets better over time. Since these are beta versions, some users may benefit from waiting for the official release.
