Stacey Pinkerton claims Cosby drugged her at a restaurant in Illinois and took her back to a hotel room in Chicago that year when she was a 21-year-old flight attendant and model. He claims to have “forced sexual intercourse” with her while he was incapacitated by drugs.
The lawsuit comes more than a year after Cosby was released from prison after his 2018 Pennsylvania sexual assault conviction was overturned. Earlier this year, a jury in Los Angeles awarded her $500,000 prize to a woman who claimed she was sexually abused by Playboy Cosby at her mansion in 1975 when she was a teenager.
Pinkerton says she was accused of assault after she met Cosby in New York and he promised to help her career. but did not appear in the final edit.
Months after the alleged assault, Pinkerton said Cosby invited her to his show at a Chicago theater.
The Pinkerton lawsuit states that “Cosby engaged in the same or similar patterns of behavior as the victim,” and that “the victim did not express interest in advancing his career, giving him a role on The Cosby Show, or and used the filming location as a means of access.” , segregating women, sexually harassing them, committing sexual assaults, using drugs to incapacitate victims, and forcing them to perform sexual acts without their consent.”
In the lawsuit, NBC, Kauffman Astoria Studios, and Kiersey Warner Television allege that they should have known Cosby was dangerous to women and failed to protect Pinkerton from him.
Cosby’s spokesperson Andrew Wyatt said Friday night that Cosby “continues to vehemently deny all allegations made against him and looks forward to defending him in court.”
In an email to the Associated Press, Wyatt said, “As we’ve always said, and as America can now see, this is all about money, not justice for sexual assault victims. “We believe the Court, like the Court of Public Opinion, will follow the rules of the law and release Mr. Cosby from these charges.”
Representatives for NBCUniversal, Kaufman Astoria Studios and Carsey-Werner Television did not immediately respond to requests for comment Friday night. All three companies were involved in the production of The Cosby Show, according to Pinkerton’s lawsuit.
The lawsuit by Pinkerton and five other women was filed within New York’s one-year period during which adults can file sexual abuse allegations.
Cosby served nearly three years in prison before the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction. The trial judge and the Intermediate Court of Appeals found no evidence of such immunity.
Seven other whistleblowers received settlements from Cosby’s insurance company following Pennsylvania convictions for defamation lawsuits filed in Massachusetts. Their lawsuit said Cosby and his agent disrespected them for denying the abuse allegations.
