The Lagos State Women’s Development Center says empowering women and youth through vocational and entrepreneurial skills will contribute to the state’s economic development.
Mrs Olufunke Adeleye, director of LWDC’s Center for Women’s Development, said at a day-long event held in the Center’s auditorium in Agege, according to a statement on Sunday.
Adeleye says:
“We not only want our young entrepreneurs to be self-reliant, but we also want them to become employers of workers in various communities and contribute meaningfully to the state’s socio-economic development.
“As you know, making Lagos a 21st century economy is one of the state’s current administration’s six-pillar development agenda, and in order to achieve this, the state government has implemented a number of economic reforms. We have introduced it, and vocational training and skill acquisition have been very important in that.”
