In the 40 years since its birth in New York City, hip-hop music as a genre has been reinvented from time to time. Also known as rap music, hip-hop artists fascinate music lovers around the world. In India, one of his top music composers who is again spearheading the hip-hop movement is Sameer Ahmed aka VDJ Royal. His stylized music is making waves across music platforms. And now, in 2023, he plans to release three more original songs.
Buoyed by the tremendous support and love received from fans and followers in 2022, VDJ Royal has decided to refresh the domestic hip-hop trend once again with three new songs. The first song is a romantic number called “Tujhe Yaad Karta Hu Main Raaton Mein”. A VDJ Royal original, this lighthearted song is sung by popular singer Chetan Sati.
The remaining two songs are rap songs, one of which is “9vi Class Ka Main Chaatra Tha”, written by VDJ Royal and Kajal Rawat and sung by Bro Panda. The second rap song “Zindagi Adhuri” was composed by VDJ Royal with lyrics by Bro Panda.
An accomplished DJ, Sameer Ahmed started writing songs at the age of 19 and became a full-fledged DJ & music producer after gaining social media recognition. Based in Delhi, his VDJ Royal also launched his own YouTube channel, VDj Royal, uploading mashups and remixes of original songs, as well as soulful renditions of already popular hits. His social presence on platforms such as Instagram strengthens his status as a New Age artist who is much loved by audiences.
The first video he released in the Holly Bolly Mashup series has received up to 50 million views on YouTube. That one video of him and its popularity changed everything for Sameer. Soon, he was quarreling with big names in the Indian music industry and artists like Mika Singh, Urvashi Rautela and Sukhbir. After being on YouTube for six years as a music artist, his channel now has 1.59 million subscribers and he has 380 million video viewers. Today, his remixes are featured on his Chowk Club Mirchi on Radio Mirchi, and young people are giving his work all the love it can.
