10. Biz Buzz: 71-Year-Old Tire Store in Idaho Falls Gives New Owners – October 19, 2022
In October, 37-year-old Tanner Landon of Idaho Falls and his wife, Jenna, purchased a Fred & Wayne tire store on the 1970 North Yellowstone Highway from Mitch Qvalford.
The idea of acquiring Fred & Wayne’s appealed to Tanner. Not only was Tanner founded, but it was able to incorporate repair into its business model. He also likes being able to offer different brands of tires that are not an option in some shops.
One of his mother’s favorite hobbies is riding e-bikes, and Landon hopes to start selling e-bikes in the future. As an avid fisherman, he also considers becoming an authorized repair center for Minn Koda, a manufacturer of electric fishing rod motors.

9. Biz Buzz: Nostalgic candy store in Sherry is expanding with a frowning sign – July 6, 2022
Sherry’s nostalgic candy store, which raised eyebrows last year for posting a political sign out front, underwent a major expansion project this summer.
#Treats offers a variety of nostalgic treats from the 1900s, including Abba Zabbas, Coconut Slices, Whistle Pops (similar to Toot Sweets from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), Black Cow, Bottle Caps and Nickel Nip Wax Bottles. It offers. One of his most popular items is bubblegum cigarettes.
In January, the store moved a few blocks from its old location at 202 South State Street to 326 North State Street. Stephanie and her husband, Flint, were planning to add an ice cream her bar in store that would serve furs ice cream to customers.

The shop’s new building is part of what was once a motel, and the duo have worked hard to transform each room into a Flintlock Retreat, a series of themed Airbnb suites for travelers.

8. Biz Buzz: Man from Idaho Falls Offers Customers Fast Cars and Dreams Big at Off-Road Auto Shop – Feb 16, 2022
Even after spending just a few minutes with Phillip Keathley, it’s clear he knows him well.
The 21-year-old Brigham Young University-Idaho student recently opened Dartlayers, an outfitter shop at 450 South Yellowstone Hwy in Idaho Falls that customizes and assembles all things off-road vehicle related.
Keathley started his business two years ago from his garage in Idaho Falls.

At first glance, Zakaria Monson and his two business partners, Tim Olsen and Zach Mahan, look crude. But looks can be deceiving.
The trio were addicted to drugs for a long time, but have since turned their lives around through a rehabilitation and recovery program.
Earlier this year, they teamed up to create Grave Robbers Coffee, an online company that manufactures and distributes fresh coffee beans to clients. Our coffee beans are sourced from around the world and roasted locally.

5. Biz Buzz: New Burrito Restaurant Opens (and then Closes) in Idaho Falls – February 23, 2022
Since he was 15, Tyler Karraker has dreamed of owning his own restaurant.
A 35-year-old Idaho Falls man started working at a fast food restaurant in central Illinois where he was born and raised. He moved to eastern Idaho about a decade ago and opened Revolution His Burrito on his 900 Pancheri Drive in Suite A in February (it closed a few months later).

4. Biz Buzz: 90-year-old business in Firth undergoing refurbishment under new owners – July 20, 2022
When it closed in 2020, Colette Pub at 132 Main Street, Firth had been serving customers for 90 years.
Holly Johnson, who remembers eating burgers with her family as a child, recently purchased the 1,200-square-foot space and an old theater next door.
She, her husband Brian, and their friends Brett and Jenise Olive and Shrith Prestwitch are working on updating it and giving it a fresh new look. They were tentatively planning to reopen Collet’s in September. I’m looking forward to it,” he said.
