milwaukee – A Milwaukee man, who faces criminal charges after a 16-year-old boy was shot, had his cash bond reduced on Tuesday, Nov. 22.

Previously set at $7,000 on November 5, 18-year-old Prince Eric Cornelius’ bond has now been changed to $4,000, according to court records. Cornelius was charged with injury from negligent handling of a dangerous weapon and obstruction of an officer. He pleaded not guilty on his November 14th.

Milwaukee police responded to shootings near Teutonia and Good Hope on October 30. A 16-year-old boy told police he heard a “big little explosion,” according to the criminal complaint. He and his father initially thought he was in shock. he wasn’t shot. Their apartment had an electrical problem and had a small hole in the wall.

The boy’s room shared a wall with an apartment next door, according to the complaint. The father knocked on the apartment door and explained a possible electrical problem. Cornelius walked out to the door and said, “I hit the game console and that could have caused the damage.”

At the scene, police found a “bullet” that had penetrated the wall from Cornelius’ residence into the boy’s room, according to the complaint. A collage of framed photographs appears to have been moved and placed over the hole.

Two other people were in the house at the time of the shooting, according to the complaint. One of them, he told police, when he heard gunshots and asked what happened to Cornelius, he “knocked something over.” She said she didn’t see anything knocked down and didn’t see any bullet holes, so she didn’t believe anyone was hurt.

Another, according to the complaint, knew there was a bullet hole in the wall but believed it had “been there for a while”. He said that he had a bullet hole in his body.

In an interview with police, Cornelius said he was at the store around the time the boy was shot. According to Cornelius, the man came back to the apartment with him and attempted a robbery at gunpoint, threatening to kill his family if he said anything to the police. Surveillance video from the store, however, did not show Cornelius or “anyone matching his description” being there half an hour before or after the time he said he would be there. , someone named “Tae” came over and said that he had put down a gun and fired.

Cornelius said the boy’s father didn’t say anything about the gun when he came over.
