Make the most of your time with these productivity apps. But productivity is up to you.
In today’s world, the lines between work and play can become blurred and stressful. Productivity apps help you organize and prioritize your daily activities, manage procrastination, and relax.
Here are the top 6 apps that can help you maximize your productivity.
Evernote is a combination of a note-taking app and an organizational app. There is a large at-a-glance home page with various easily accessible widgets. Widgets include notepads, calendars, to-do lists, and more. Add text, photos, links, PDFs, and audio files to your notes to keep all your thoughts in one place.
All your Evernote information can also be synced across devices, so you can always access your notes even when you’re offline.

For those who love journaling or are new to journaling, Day One Journal is the perfect app to organize your thoughts.
Forget the journal with the lock under the bed. Day One has privacy options for your digital journal by locking it with a passcode or biometrics. With space for unlimited text entries, users can also write their journals in Markdown, add photos, and even export their journals. And this is for free users only! Paid users can also import posts from Instagram, create handwritten entries with a stylus or finger, and dictate entries with audio transcription.

Pocket is one of my favorite productivity apps. Users can bookmark articles, news, recipes and videos to read or watch later. If an article you really want to read appears on your timeline at an inconvenient time, just press the “Save” button and it will be automatically saved to Pocket. From your saved articles, Pocket can also recommend new articles to read if you’re out of content or looking for new articles.
Pocket’s accessibility is also second to none. You can change the text size, font, display mode, and listen to articles instead of reading them. Premium users can also use the full-text search feature, get unlimited in-article highlights, and access premium fonts.
cost: The free version has limited features, but you can subscribe yearly or monthly for $69.99 or $7.99 respectively.
availability: iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and Kobo e-readers.
If you’re struggling to stay on task because you’re procrastinating on your phone, the Forest app is for you. With this productivity app and Pomodoro timer in one, you can plant a tree whenever you want to stay focused. Trees grow while you focus on your work. If you leave or close the app before your focus time is over, your tree will die. The more focused you are, the more trees you plant and the bigger the forest.
The Forest app also partners with an environmental group called Trees for the Future. When users spend virtual coins within the app, the team behind Forest actually donates them to plant trees.
cost: $5.99 for additional in-app purchases.
availability: iOS, Android, Google Chrome extension.
This is another one I’m obsessed with! Trello works with a system of boards, lists, and cards. Your board is your base. They are like folders on your computer where all your lists and cards are stored. You can add multiple people to your board for collaboration. The list is the various stages of each task. You can have multiple lists within a single board and they are often used to show work flow. Finally, cards are tasks or ideas you are working on. It can hold any kind of information and you can edit it however you like (it’s like a small Word document). You can place multiple cards within a list and move cards between lists.
Trello is a great productivity app for organizing your workflow and collaborating with others.
cost: Free with limited functionality. Standard, Premium, and Enterprise are $5, $10, and $17.50 per month respectively.
availability: iOS, Android, Windows, Mac.
Working from home can be both a blessing and a curse. Having to organize work at home can make it difficult to organize your home life. This is where Toddy comes to the rescue. Originally designed as a “smart” to-do list for managing household chores, it has become useful as a tracking and reminder tool for other tasks.
Tody measures how long it’s been since you’ve previously completed a task and reminds you to complete each task when you set a deadline. Various customization options let you add and remove tasks, large or small.
