The Windows Subsystem for Android is now set up. You have the Amazon App Store, or you have something else. Now what do you actually install?
Let’s take a look at six different apps that you really want to use on your Windows system.
Wait… Android apps for Windows 11?
In case you haven’t already noticed, you can install native Android apps on your Windows 11 system. For now, this is only officially supported through the Amazon App Store, but you can also sideload Android apps on Windows 11 as long as you have the Windows Android Subsystem installed.
Many of the apps on this list are not available directly from the Amazon App Store.
It’s not hard to find an e-reader app for Windows, but it’s hard to find one as clean and easy to use.
If you already use the Kindle app for reading on your phone, it’s easy to bring this over to your Windows 11 installation so you can pick up exactly where you left off on any device.
Performance and stability are guaranteed as this is one of the apps available in the Amazon App Store.

Do you browse Reddit a lot? If so, you’ve probably sought out another Reddit app in the past to enjoy a cleaner, better-designed UI.
Now you can bring your UI to your Windows system.
Sync for Reddit works well in all situations and being able to use it on Windows systems is very helpful if you are already comfortable with the design.

This option is for users who use touch screen capabilities with Windows, such as the Surface Pro.
Outlook is notoriously difficult with touch controls, but the Outlook app works just fine.
So the ability to install Android apps on your computer is an obvious solution. The Mail app is relatively simple from the start, so you don’t lose too much functionality.

It’s not for everyone, but TachiyomiSY is a stylish and functional manga reader.
Finding a manga reader that looks and works great can be a challenge on Windows, so Android alternatives are another obvious solution.
This doesn’t have the syncing benefits that the Kindle app offers, but it’s still a great way to read manga from your Windows system.

Apple TV is just one of the many streaming services we’re used to accessing and using the web version of.
Unfortunately, Apple TV does not offer Windows-based programs that run natively. Perhaps there will eventually be a Windows program for Apple TV.
However, since there is no official announcement or news about its status, this may be the best way to watch Apple TV on your Windows system without relying on your browser.

Similar to the entry above, Apple Music is a paid subscription service, but not accessible on Windows systems.
The solution is an Android app. Now you can access and listen to your music library on your main system while enjoying the sleek look of the app.
Even if the Windows equivalent of Apple apps eventually hit the Windows platform, it’s unlikely to function or look as polished as the app versions.

Cross-platform compatibility on Windows 11
So you have it. After setting up the Windows Subsystem for Android, we now have a few apps that we actually want to install.
Your mileage may vary when it comes to performance for these apps, but at least they’re all compatible and serve a purpose you wouldn’t get otherwise.
With the sheer amount of Android apps out there, you might even find a few more to suit your needs.
