Observing the success of others is not always easy. At times, they may even highlight their shortcomings and weaknesses. The proliferation of social media into our lives has exacerbated this behavior as people consciously organize their posts to only show highlights.
We are all susceptible to this feeling, regardless of our level of success. Remember that We tend to believe these things are beyond our control. In fact, we’ve been socialized to think that our emotions and experiences are completely at the mercy of the world around us.
But the truth is that our beliefs are the result of a process that begins within us. When we adopt this mindset, we are ready to banish unhelpful negative thoughts, and to find out the possibilities that may not be true in the first place. becomes higher.
Here are some strategies I adhere to when dealing with negative thoughts.
1. Breathwork
If you’re in a bad mood or feeling anxious, try taking a deep breath. Deep breathing exercises such as box breathing may help you relax and calm down. Count to four as you inhale and exhale to release tension and relax your nervous system. The habit of taking slow, long breaths can affect your physiology and, in turn, your behavior.
2. Language
The things we pay attention to are magnified, and the language we use has a huge impact on how we behave. Therefore, we can reframe our perspective by rephrasing unproductive statements with more optimistic ones. For example, “everything goes wrong”. You can paraphrase it as, “Things don’t seem to be going well at the moment, but they can get better.” This gives you space to acknowledge your negative thoughts and remind yourself that they are temporary feelings.
And you’d be surprised how simply adding the word “yet” to a negative sentence can completely change the way you think about it. Moving from “I don’t have the ability to grow this business” to “I don’t have the ability to grow this business yet” gives you a starting point to realize your potential and plan your next steps.
3.Posture

To encourage more optimistic thinking and action, try sitting upright with your shoulders stretched back and your head held high. Light exercise such as walking and stretching can also help.
4. Gratitude
Don’t forget to be grateful for what you have. No matter how negative your thoughts, no matter how small, there is always something in life that makes you feel safe. Make a list of everything that defines you. Celebrate your skills and abilities, especially the unique ones you bring to the table. Pretty soon you’ll be using all these positive words as a mantra of self-affirmation.
These are just some of the positive actions I practice. I know people who like writing, helping others, and shaking things up as a way to combat negative thoughts. You can have a more positive outlook on life. If you’re still struggling, remember that the only person you should compare yourself to is your past self. You will be able to be the best you can be.
