Altoona, Pennsylvania (WTAJ) – Aiden Crane, 20-year-old owner of Altoona’s Heritage Pizza, has been doing well since opening two weeks ago on the corner of 13th and 16th Avenues. .
Just two years ago, Craine graduated from Bishop Guilfoyle High School and has been working to realize his dream of owning his own business.
“People encouraged me to go to college, but I didn’t want to,” Crane said. You don’t have to go to college to own a business, so you either spend four years going to college or you spend four years studying and starting your own business. I thought about it, so I did.”
Craine said he knows being a young business owner is becoming less common in today’s world, but he’s been able to adapt and figure it out as he goes along. rice field.
“You learn almost everything on the fly,” says Craine. “That’s one of the fun parts about it. I’ve talked to other business owners who have started companies and such.
He knew the previous owner of the vacant building and said he couldn’t pass up the opportunity when it became available. Where to start, he said, he doesn’t have to be rich to start his own business.

“We have city grants and state grants,” says Craine. “Believe it or not, you can start a business pretty cheaply, so look for different kinds of things, investors.”
