17-year-old dies in Milwaukee gas station shooting, 3 charged
Three Milwaukee men have been charged in connection with the November 1 shootings at gas stations near Keef and November 7. A 17-year-old boy has died. Police used surveillance to identify the man, but were able to do so quickly due to the high quality of the video.

Police used surveillance to identify the man, but were able to do so quickly due to the high quality of the video. They didn’t post it publicly and asked for help, instead accusing two parole agents and one of his police officers all of his three men involved in the shooting from having a gun in the first place. I’m sure it shouldn’t have been.
The defendants, McAelon Bennett, Bruce Davis, and Dequan Jenkins, face the following criminal charges:
- 1st Degree Reckless Murder (Bennett, Davis, Jenkins)
- Possession of firearms by felons (Bennett, Davis, Jenkins)
- Bail Jumping Felony (Bennett)
- Bail Jumping Misdemeanor (Bennett)
According to the criminal complaint, a witness told police that he was with a man killed in the shooting, and exchanged words between them and some men at a gas station. Upon returning, a group of gas station men immediately began shooting at them, beating the man who had been killed.

According to surveillance, the red Kia arrived at the gas station and the witness above went inside and had an altercation with five men who were already inside. He said he got into the Kia and started driving. Jenkins then handed the gun to Bruce Davis, who began firing as the Kia pulled away, the complaint says.

The video showed another man in a bright blue sweatshirt also firing in the same direction at the same time, and McAelon Bennett also started firing a pistol with a drum magazine in the same direction at the same time.

Police found 41 used 9mm cartridges in the area.
The victim died from three gunshot wounds. The death was ruled a homicide.
All three men charged in the case were identified from video and positively identified by either parole agents or police who had previous contact with all three.

Bennett appeared in court on Monday, November 7th.

“You’re a very young person. This is a violent crime. It’s a Step Two crime,” said Court President Grace Flynn.
Bennett’s attorneys tried to advocate a reduction in bail for first-degree reckless murder to $10,000.
“He had his 21st birthday in prison. He lives with his mother. He works at his mother’s day care center. He helps her very regularly and That’s his job,” his lawyer said.
Commissioner Flynn set bail at $300,000, as did Davis and Jenkins, who appeared in court on Sunday.
“Mr. Bennett, I think there is a very extreme bail risk,” Flynn said.
Police are looking for a fourth person for aiding and abetting, according to the criminal complaint.
